Image licensing and reuse

Check each image’s rights notice before reusing it.

Images explicitly identified as CC BY 4.0 on this website are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence by the indicated rights holder. Other images are not covered by this grant; consult their individual rights notices.

Basics and fundamentals figures

Original images and figures in the basics and fundamentals guides are credited to Capillaroscopy.com and offered under CC BY 4.0. CAPILLARY IO SL remains the rights holder. Images reused from clinical cases or the image library retain their source author’s credit and licence, including cases where no reuse licence has been defined. Check each image or panel’s credit.

What CC BY 4.0 permits

The copyright holder retains ownership. The licence permits copying, redistribution and adaptation, including commercial use. Retain appropriate attribution, supplied copyright and warranty notices, source and licence information, and indicate changes, including any previously indicated modifications. No separate permission, notification or fee is required for uses covered by the licence.

Attribution

The example below is a convenient format, not the only way to comply. Attribution may be provided in a reasonable manner suited to the medium. It must not imply endorsement. No promotional wording, particular caption position or link to a commercial product is required.

Other rights and clinical limitations

A copyright licence does not settle privacy, personality or other applicable rights and legal requirements. It does not certify clinical accuracy or suitability for medical decisions. Educational purpose and medical disclaimers do not add copyright restrictions to a CC grant.

Continuing permissions

Removing an image or changing future website terms does not revoke a CC BY 4.0 grant for recipients who comply with its conditions. Restrictions elsewhere on publication, commercial use, extraction, redistribution or model training do not override that grant. The official licence governs; this explanation does not replace its legal code.

Other images and materials

Third-party licences and credits remain in force. Images with limited permission or rights awaiting review do not receive a CC grant from this page. Consult the individual notice and the legal notice for their terms. Software, text, logos, interface screenshots, third-party figures, embedded studies and unpublished datasets are outside this new grant unless individually and explicitly approved. Future uploads are not automatically open-licensed.
